As a lily in my Father's vast pond, I will reflect on HIS beautiful and solid Word that keeps me afloat!!

Precious gift of God's Word,
be encouraged by IT daily ~ breathe it, soak it in, and most of all LIVE IT!
The true test of Character is what you do and say when NO ONE is watching you!
(Because in truth ... the most important person always is!)

~ Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ, our King! May the Lord use this time meditating on His perfect Word in some small way to bless and encourage you today! ~

Ezekiel 15:2

Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

What a blessed thing to know to whom belong ....

Reflect on this Scripture!

I'm asking the Lord for wisdom in understanding and applying what we have read today to my daily life ... will you do the same? I pray you will.

"For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain"? If we thus read God's Word as a test of our spiritual condition, we shall have good reason to stop many a time and say, "Lord, I feel I have never yet been here, O bring me here! give me true penitence, such as this I read of. Give me real faith; give me warmer zeal; inflame me with more fervent love; grant me the grace of meekness; make me more like Jesus. Let me no longer be 'found wanting,' when weighed in the balances of the sanctuary, lest I be found wanting in the scales of judgment." - CHS

Leonard Ravenhill

If Jesus had preached the same message that ministers preach today, He would never have been crucified."

~ Leonard Ravenhill

Born in Leeds, in Yorkshire, England, he was educated at Cliff College in England and sat under the ministry of Samuel Chadwick. He was a student of church history and an expert in the field of revival. His meetings in the war years drew large crowds in Britain, and as a result many devoted themselves to Christian ministry and the world's mission fields.

In 1959, Ravenhill and his family moved from Great Britain to the United States. In the 1960's they traveled within the United States in tent revivals and evangelistic meetings.

In the 1980s, Ravenhill moved to a home near Lindale, Texas, a short distance from Last Days Ministries Ranch. He regularly taught classes at LDM and was a mentor to the late Keith Green.

Among others influenced by Ravenhill were Ravi Zacharias, Tommy Tenney, Steve Hill, Charles Stanley, Bill Gothard, Paul Washer, and David Wilkerson.

He was a close friend of pastor and writer A. W. Tozer and a prolific writer himself.

Through his teaching and books, Ravenhill addressed the disparities he perceived between the New Testament Church and the Church in his time and called for adherence to the principles of biblical revival.

Tozer said of Ravenhill:

To such men as this, the church owes a debt too heavy to pay. The curious thing is that she seldom tries to pay him while he lives. Rather, the next generation builds his sepulcher and writes his biography – as if instinctively and awkwardly to discharge an obligation the previous generation to a large extent ignored.

When he passed on in November 1994 , Ravenhill was interred in the same cemetery near Keith Green.

More quotes of his:
"If weak in prayer, we are weak everywhere." — Leonard Ravenhill

"Men give advice; God gives guidance." — Leonard Ravenhill

"Are the things you are living for worth Christ dying for?"
— Leonard Ravenhill

"A sinning man stops praying, a praying man stops sinning"
— Leonard Ravenhill

"The only reason we don't have revival is because we are willing to live without it!"
— Leonard Ravenhill

"God pity us that after years of writing, using mountains of paper and rivers of ink, exhausting flashy terminology about the biggest revival meetings in history, we are still faced with gross corruption in every nation, as well as with the most prayerless church age since Pentecost."
— Leonard Ravenhill

"The Church used to be a lifeboat rescuing the perishing. Now she is a cruise ship recruiting the promising."
— Leonard Ravenhill

"The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity."
— Leonard Ravenhill
